Description
**Fighting Knife/Dagger - Military Style**
This is a double-edged fighting knife or dagger featuring a straight, symmetrical blade with a leather-wrapped handle and simple crossguard. The blade appears to be made of steel with a satin finish and shows moderate surface rust/patina throughout. The handle is wrapped in brown leather cord in a traditional spiral pattern, terminating in what appears to be a metal pommel cap.
Based on the ruler measurements visible in the images, the overall length is approximately 18-19 inches, with the blade measuring roughly 12-13 inches and the handle approximately 6 inches. The blade width appears to be about 1 inch at its widest point. Visible markings on the blade include what appears to be "Sabre" and "Made in" followed by additional text that's partially obscured by corrosion.
The knife shows significant age and wear, with surface rust present on the blade and some deterioration to the leather wrapping on the handle. The crossguard shows pitting and oxidation consistent with age. Based on the style and construction, this appears to be a 20th century military or combat knife, possibly from the WWII era or similar period. The overall condition suggests it has seen use and requires restoration to prevent further deterioration.
