Description
This is a vintage Victrola cabinet phonograph, likely from the early 20th century (approximately 1910s-1920s). The piece features a dark mahogany or walnut wood finish with a traditional furniture-style cabinet design. The unit stands on curved cabriole legs and has a distinctive curved top section that houses the turntable mechanism when opened.
The phonograph measures approximately 48-50 inches in height, 18-20 inches in width, and 16-18 inches in depth, based on the visible measuring stick in one image. The cabinet features four hinged doors - two smaller upper doors and two larger lower doors with round brass knobs. The upper compartment contains the turntable mechanism with a green felt mat, tonearm, and original Victrola branding visible on both the turntable area and inside the lid.
The lower cabinet section contains multiple shelves designed for storing phonograph records, with curved wooden dividers to keep records organized and separated. The interior shows the original reddish-brown finish. The piece shows typical age-related wear including surface scratches, some finish loss, and patina consistent with its vintage, but appears structurally sound and complete with all original hardware intact.
The visible "Victrola" branding and "Victor Talking Machine Co." markings confirm this as an authentic Victor product from the acoustic era of phonographs, before electric amplification became standard.
